This is, by far, the most mobile character I've played. As a result I'm taking far less damage than I normally do because my enemies can't get a bead on me, or are swinging when I've already moved on. i bought the original skyrim on steam via a steam key and now want to get into modding but i am wondering if i should buy the dlc for original skyrim (which does not show up on steam search, curse you betheshda ) or should i buy the special. Cast-and-shoot spells are difficult for me to accurately make on the run, but the steady stream of novice spells lets me move all over the place while dealing damage. (new) Should i buy old skyrim or special edition for mods - posted in General Skyrim Discussion: Hello i am new to skyrim and modding in general. What this build has done for me that my other Mage playthroughs have not allowed is given me a highly increased ability to move and weave while on the offensive. Nothing drives me more crazy than an atronach stone-related summon-fail. When I take on the Atronach stone, I'll have to say goodbye to my traveling companion. Sadly, I'm losing the familiar almost immediately after casting him in battle, but I still cast him while traveling (I liked that RP aspect of having the familiar as a constant traveling companion, but it has also proven a useful distraction for the occasional saber cat/bear ambush, buying me just enough time to cast a flesh spell and switch back to dual flames). In a couple levels I will probably switch over to Atronach. I'm in the mid-20's, so the 3/3 Mage armor (still just using Stoneflesh) and 3/3 magic resistance are doing the trick.
